Olberode, a small town in Hessen, Germany from which some of the Goetz, Webert, Battenberg, and Paff (Pfaff) ancestors came. It is just a few kilometers from Oberaula, a larger town, and about 15 miles west of Bad Hersfeld, a city in the Hessen region. To find it one drives north from Frankfurt to Marburg, and east to Kirchheim (be careful not to confuse this with Kirchhain), then north to Oberaula. From there just follow the signs. The Baroque organ shown starting with photo P7060134 in this set of photos is from the Evangelish church in Oberaula, beautiful old case. After that the fountain's 6 sides name the 6 villages of the Oberaula area.No Paffs, Weberts, Goetz's, or Battenbergs live in the village now, though there are Battenbergs in Obergeiss nearby.
