Second floor. On the right at the end was a 2nd grade classroom, Miss Latendres', and the near dor on the right was a 3rd grade classroom, Miss Estes. Do you know why most of our teachers were old maids? It's because in the early 20th century women teachers were not allowed to marry, and by the time that changed a lot of our teachers were getting up there in years.
