Liberia with Mr. Paff
|
Liberia is a country in West Africa. Mr. Paff lived there for two years. It was formed by freed slaves from the US that went back to Africa in the 1820s. Liberia stands for Liberty. The capital city, Monrovia, stands for our President Monroe, who allowed the freed slaves to go back to Africa.
It is a very hot country in the African bush (jungle). 26 tribes are found there, speaking 26 languages. Imagine how hard it is for people to talk to each other. The country is about half the size of Oregon or Minnesota. Click on the first photo to make it big, and then click on the right arrows to see all the photos.
